Machete Cards

One ledger for card dealers, from the scan to the margin

Back-office software for card dealers: scan a stack, price it against the market, label it, and see your margin.

machetecards.com
The situation
Card dealers run their business across a phone camera roll, a pricing site, a spreadsheet and a marketplace account. Every card gets typed in more than once, and nobody can say what a show weekend actually made.
The constraint
Dealers work standing at a table with a line of customers. Anything slower than a glance loses the deal, and anything that can't export its data won't be trusted with a dealer's inventory.
Why this approach
Generic inventory tools don't know what a card is; collector apps don't know what a margin is. Machete Cards treats card identity, market price and cost basis as one record, so the ledger stays true from the scan to the sale.

What it does

  • Scan a stack of cards into inventory with AI card recognition and a confirm-first review
  • Price each card against the market, with condition-aware suggestions the dealer can override
  • Print QR price labels and log deals at the show table
  • See margin by day or month across every channel

How it’s built

  • Card identity, cost basis and market price kept on one record instead of three systems
  • AI used only where it earns its place (reading the card), with a human confirming every match
  • Full CSV and JSON export on every plan, so the dealer always owns their data

Where it stands

Live at machetecards.com as a subscription product for dealers, with a 7-day free trial. Shipyard Labs designs, builds and operates it.

A production SaaS that takes a dealer from a pile of cards to a priced, labeled, tracked inventory in one tool.

Next: Deeper show-day tooling, so the table, the ledger and the payout reconcile without a spreadsheet.
